We are living in a technological age where almost every man, woman and child is exposed to technology in one form or the other. It is no surprise the extent to which it has infiltrated into the classroom. For example, while attending school as a child, I remembered the teacher using the chalk board and the whiteboard. Today some of us are exposed to the INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD.
The interactive whiteboard (IWB) needs A projector and a computer or laptop is needed to set up the interactive whiteboard (IWB). The

board is connected to the computer using a universal serial bus (USB) cable or wireless connection such as bluetooth. It operates like a touch sensitive computer screen or a touchscreen as is normally referred to. Persons interact with these boards through the use of a pen, marker, stylus or finger. However, the tool used to interact with the board depends on the type of IWB. For example, the Electromagnetic board requires the use of a special pen while the finger or any pointer can be used to interact with the Resistive board. There are other types of IWBs.
The IWB can be used like any ordinary white board except it offers a wider variety of features and advantages. For example, teachers are able to store work that can be used to teach several classes, built in maps can be used to teach about countries and continents, it limits the number of trips that the teacher has to make between the computer and the board. There are many types of ICB software available to add features and maximize the use of the boards. Teachers can use the softwares that they need.
